You'll need a NOW TV account too, so if you don't have one already, first start a free trial or buy a Pass.

How to install the NOW TV Player

Step 1

To trigger the Player download, you’ll need to choose something to watch. Head over to the NOW TV site, find a show, movie, sporting event or kids’ show, and hit play.

You’ll then be prompted to download the Player.

The NOW TV Player will download to wherever you’ve set as your preferred download location (the default on a Mac is the Downloads folder).

Step 2

The file will start downloading:

Drag and drop the Now TV Player into your applications folder.

Step 4

The first time you launch the NOW TV Player, you’ll see a message like this (it may look slightly different, depending on your browser). Just select Open:

Next time you watch...

The next time you go to watch something on the NOW TV site, your computer should remember you’ve already installed the NOW TV Player and start playing straight away. If it doesn’t, and you see this screen again, just click I’ve already got this to continue.

Got an iOS or Android device? You can download most on demand shows and movies on the Entertainment Pass, Cinema Pass, Kids Pass and hayu Pass to watch again later when you’re offline, whether on the go or relaxing on holiday.

Some events and shows from the Sky Sports Pass are also available to download and replay.

Just look for the download icon on the programme info screen, or next to the episode you want to download.

Keep in mindYour device needs a Wi-Fi connection to download shows, movies or sports. You won’t be able to download via 3G or 4G.

You might need to update the NOW TV app on your iOS or Android device to enable downloads.

How long can I watch my downloads for?

After you download a show, movie or sports event, it'll be saved for 30 days, or until it expires and is no longer available on NOW TV – whichever is sooner.

Once you've started watching, you can watch as many times as you like for 48 hours before the end of the 30 days and your download is deleted.

Keep in mindYour downloads will be deleted if you sign out of your NOW TV account on your device, or if the device is removed from your list of devices.

Why are some shows and movies not available to download?

Is the episode or movie you want to download greyed out, or there's no download icon?

This might be because rights restrictions mean we can't offer downloads for all our on demand shows and movies at the moment. However we’re working hard behind the scenes to make more and more available for download in the future.

Downloading shows or movies on the Entertainment, Cinema, Sports or hayu Pass

Just tap the download icon on the info screen for the show, movie or sports event you want to download, or next the episode you want to download in the episode list.

To see your downloads and start watching, go to My TV in the main menu, and then select Downloads.

Downloading shows on the Kids Pass

Hit the download icon on the programme info screen to switch to download view.

Then just tap a show episode or movie to start downloading it.

To see your downloads and start watching, just tap the My Downloads icon on your Kids homescreen.

You can queue as many downloads as you like, but each show or movie will download one at a time.

You can watch each download as many times as you like for 48 hours after you start watching. You'll need to finish watching within 30 days of downloading.

Once 30 days is up, your download will be deleted. After your download’s been deleted, you can download the episode or movie one more time for another 30 day period.

You’ve got 30 days to watch a download before it’s deleted. Once you start watching your download, you can watch as many times as you like in the next 48 hours before it's deleted at the end of your 30 days.

• We don't have the rights to offer downloads for this particular show or movie. While we’re working hard behind the scenes to make more and more of our on demand shows and movies available for download in the future, we don't have rights to offer downloads for all of them right now.
